Michael J. Bachtel

Managing Director

Mike is a native of Massillon and a graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School, Stark Technical College, and the University of Phoenix.  He has been with the firm since 2004, and became a licensed funeral director in 2014. Mike is a member of Divine Mercy Parish.  He and his wife, Jennifer, have resided in Massillon for over 30 years.  "It is a privilege to continue the outstanding service this firm has provided to area families for over 120 years.  Each family can count on personal, caring, and dedicated attention.  They have certain expectations during a very difficult time.  Our responsibility is to understand those expectations and use our experience to ensure we exceed them.  This is our purpose, and our pledge.

Edward J. Hare, Sr. (Retired)

Funeral Director/Embalmer

Ed is a licensed funeral director/embalmer and had been with the firm from 1971 until his retirement in 2021. He holds a B.S. Degree in Education from Eastern Kentucky University and a Mortuary Science Degree from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.  His community involvement over the years had been extensive. His passion had been with the Massillon Heritage Foundation and preservation of Five Oaks, home of the Massillon Woman’s Club. Ed enjoys spending time with his wife, Nancy; daughter, Jennifer; son, Chip; and four grandchildren.  He and Nancy now reside in Florida.
